About Stanford Cardinal football program
The Stanford Cardinal football program competes in NCAA Division I-A and is a member of the Pac-10 Conference. Stanford began playing football in 1892, and its annual Big Game against Cal, also begun 1892, is one of the oldest rivalry games in college football.
